The “Spine Mobility on the Reformer” workshop was a unique three-hour meeting that combined theory and practice, using the reformer – a versatile Pilates device. They were aimed both at people who want to improve the health and functionality of their spine, and at trainers who wanted to enrich their classes with new, effective techniques.

In the theoretical part, we discussed the anatomy and mechanics of the spine, the most common problems associated with pain, stiffness or limited mobility, and how to prevent them. Participants gained knowledge on how to effectively work on mobility and stability of the spine, taking into account individual needs and limitations.

The practical part of the workshop was dedicated to working on the reformer – a device that, thanks to a system of springs and platforms, allows for precise and smooth exercise. Participants learned a variety of movement sequences that promote improved range of motion, flexibility and strengthening of the muscles that support the spine. The workshop also provided inspiration for trainers, showing how to incorporate elements of reformer work into individual and group sessions.

The workshop was a great opportunity to combine theory and practice in a dynamic format, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by working on the reformer. Participants took away not only knowledge, but also concrete tools that they can use in their daily work or personal training.
